Volunteer at Alliance Center for Education Volunteers opportunities are available in all of our Centers, serving children from birth through 12th grade. Our Early Education Centers serve children from birth to five, and options include reading and classroom participation, helping during mealtimes, assistance with events and celebrations, as well as opportunities for beautification projects inside and on the grounds. ​ Our afterschool and summer camp programs present many volunteer opportunities including helping with homework at all grade levels, guest speaker presentations, assistance with events and celebrations, and more. ​ Click here to begin your application to become a volunteer at AC4Ed. Summer Fall Summer Registration - NEW students Spring AC4Ed OST programs are a dynamic continuum of afterschool / summer camp services to support your student's learning all year long. To meet the interests and needs of our students, we offer two OST programs: Teen Leadership Cooperative - 6th-12th grade Out of School Time -K-5th grade ​ Teen Leadership Cooperative Summer Camp Students Ages 11-18, 6th - 12th grade Our Teen Leadership Cooperative is social learning environment designed for students entering their teens. In this full day program, we focus on having fun, personal development and character education, how to set goals, manage time, plan for a good financial future. We explore the advantages and disadvantages of different types of career opportunities and consider college options and college tours. Guest speakers, field trips, special events, and exploration in arts, music and nutrition sciences provide for a balanced educational experience! Food & Footwork November 19, 2023 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM Join us for some food, fun and fellowship before we cheer on the Panthers! Wear your favorite jersey and participate in football drills while getting to know fellow AC4Ed families and staff. Each year, our staff and families come together to enjoy some food, fun and fellowship, and tailgating with each other. Universal Sports will be leading football drills that everyone can participate in, no matter what their skill level is. So, wear your favorite jersey and show up ready to have a great time! Out of School Time Programs (OST) Afterschool and Summer Camp K -12th Grade OST Registration 2023-2024 Begin OST 2023-2024 school-year registration by clicking the green button above. If you need to arrange transportation services from your child's school to our program location, please submit an Alternate Bus Stop Request to your child's school. Program Locations Interested in K-12 Summer Camp? AC4Ed provides a dynamic continuum of services to support your child’s transition from their pre-Kindergarten learning experiences into their K-12 school years. These Out of School Time (OST) programs are available for the academic year and summer camp. ​ Why are quality OST programs important? A recent study found that students who participate in quality afterschool and expanded learning programs attend class more regularly, achieve higher grades, and report fewer incidents of juvenile crime and other high-risk behaviors, compared to students who were routinely unsupervised during afterschool hours. Our data indicates that over the past five years 100% of our OST students have graduated from high school on time. By comparison, over the past few years, Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools have reported a decreasing high school graduation rate with only 88% of high school students graduating on time. Our OST program offered to rising Kindergarteners – 12th graders during the school year and over the summer: ​ ​ ​ Kindergarten – 5th grade AC4Ed OST Keep children engaged as lifetime learners by exploring the fun in math, art, science, music, nutrition, and much more in learn at play activities in the afternoon hours. Our OST educational professionals keep schoolwork on track with homework help and tutoring. Children love stretching out after a day behind a desk so we have great physical fitness activities, special events, arts and crafts, and field trips to keep students coming back year after year! 6th grade – 12th grade OST – AC4Ed Teen Leadership Cooperative Our OST program for students entering their teens is a social learning environment, designed to help each individual learn and apply critical thinking skills that will serve them for a lifetime.
